Education & Outreach
S.T.A.R.S.

NYB created the S.T.A.R.S. outreach program in order to encourage and educate the community about the ballet, and introduce the arts to those who might otherwise not be exposed to it, nor have the opportunity to attend a performance. Each season, the S.T.A.R.S. program reaches out to underprivileged children and families, senior citizens, special needs organizations, and local schools, and offers performances at reduced or complimentary admission.

Educational Demonstrations and Lectures
NYB recognizes the importance of the performing arts as an integral component of the community. NYB travels to local schools encouraging and educating students in all aspects of dance and theatre. These groups will learn the history of classical ballet, enjoy an hour-long performance and meet the company members.

NYB also recognizes the value of the performing arts as an integral component of the community. By staging professionally ballets at affordable prices, the company makes the arts accessible to people who might not otherwise be able to enjoy them. Through its STARS outreach program, NYB offers reduced or complimentary admission to special-needs groups, the elderly, the underprivileged, and local schools.
