Support NYB’s Cultural Exchange Program
Thank you for your support! We had a wonderful time touring to Seattle and Olympia, Washington!
NYB received an invitation from the artistic director of Studio West Dance Academy, Stephanie Wood to participate in a Cultural Exchange Program in Olympia, Washington. Twelve talented young dancers from The Conservatory at Northeast School of Ballet (NSB), the official training school of Northeast Youth Ballet, took part in a cultural exchange program, March 20th-26th, 2018. The dancers took classes at the Pacific Northwest Ballet, observed company class and rehearsals and were given a backstage tour during intermission at PNB’s Director’s Choice performance. When NYB arrived in Olympia, students and staff from SWDA gave a warm welcome to our dancers and wonderful friendships were made. NYB had the opportunity to debut the ballet, La Romenesca, choreographed by Joseph Jefferies to an enthusiastic audience in the Dance Festival Northwest at The Corbett Theatre in Centralia, WA. The trip was memorable and we look forward hosting our new friends at home during the 2018-2019 season.
NYB’s Cultural Exchange Program began over 22 years ago in 1996 and was designed to broaden the education of young artists through travel. NSB Students who have been invited to participate have the opportunity to experience other parts of the world, share their passion for dance, meet new friends, participate in workshops, art history lectures, master classes, rehearsals and perform for a new audience both at home and abroad.
Thank you for gift TODAY to support future performance and travel opportunities for the dancers of tomorrow!
