Many Northeast School of Ballet students have the unique opportunity to gain performing experience through the School’s affiliation with the Northeast Youth Ballet (NYB) company. In addition to the school’s Annual Lecture-Demonstration in the Spring, students may audition for NYB’s performances during the season. Some of the classical ballets performed over the years include The Nutcracker, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty among other classical and contemporary ballets. NYB has over 45 ballets in their repertoire!

NYB provides invaluable performing experience for many NSB students in a number of ballets featuring roles for children, allowing an exciting glimpse into the rewards of disciplined training. Such exposure is critical to the developement of a dancer. Even when not performing, students are encouraged to attend NYB performances giving them further opportunity to gain knowledge for the art form they devote so much time and training to.

Northeast School of Ballet provides the majority of NYB’s dancers, some of whom received their entire training at NSB and others who have come to the school from other dance schools to improve their ballet technique. Open auditions are scheduled in September to provide performance opportunities to students that do not attend Northeast School of Ballet.
