NYB’s S.T.A.R.S. Program was founded in 1996 to encourage and educate children and individuals of all ages about ballet, and introduce the art to those who might otherwise not be exposed to it, nor have the opportunity to attend a performance. Each season, the S.T.A.R.S. Program reaches out to underprivileged children and families, senior citizens, special needs organizations, and local schools, and offers tickets to their performances at reduced or complimentary admission.
“Thank you for your generosity in giving our ELL students the tickets to The Nutcracker. They are so grateful for being able to see such a well-done ballet. During the performance, their eyes lit up as they watched the dancers in awe.”
-Kristin M. Rillovick, Cobbet School
“On behalf of the city of Everett, thank you for providing our elementary students and senior citizens from Everett the opportunity to once again attend the spectacular theatrical performance of The Nutcracker.”
-David Ragucci, Mayor of Everett
