Dear Friend,

There is an exciting new reason to support the Northeast School of Ballet! Your support through individual giving, scholarship funds, and performances via your tax-deductible donation is essential to NSB’s educational and artistic programing. As we begin our 2018-2019 season, We are thrilled to welcome a world-renowned dancer, teacher and director, Jean Pierre Bonnefoux, to work with our students and provide an incredible opportunity for them to dance his ballet, Three Overtures, in NSB’s Fall Series.

October 20 and 21, 2018, our pre-professional trainee students of The Conservatory at NSB will perform a mixed repertory program, A New Season, at the J. Everett Collins Center of the Performing Arts in Andover, MA. The dancers will have the great fortune of performing a ballet choreographed by Jean-Pierre Bonnefoux. Mr. Bonnefoux was born in France, joined the Paris Opera Ballet at age 14 and was named Danseur Etoile at 21. He danced with the Bolshoi and Kirov Ballets and in 1970 became a principal dancer with the New York City Ballet under the direction of George Balanchine. In 1977, Bonnefoux joined the faculty of the School of American Ballet, the official school of the New York City Ballet, and began to realize his lifelong ambition of training young dancers. After directing Charlotte Ballet for over 20 years, Mr. Bonnefoux recently retired and began to focus on the next generation of dancers through his summer intensive programs at Chautauqua Dance Institute in NY and through his Art of Ballet workshops, traveling across the country. Bonnefoux approached NSB’s Artistic Director, Denise Cecere, last spring to discuss the possibility of coaching the talented students in The Conservatory at NSB. We are honored that Mr. Bonnefoux has chosen our school and dancers to present his ballet, Three Overtures, to a Greater Boston audience, as it speaks to the caliber of our training and our dancers.

Will you support NSB’s programming and bring Jean-Pierre Bonnefoux’s ballet, Three Overtures, to our students and audience? Your generous gift will go directly to help with expenses associated with obtaining the rights to the ballet, costumes and theater costs.

Your tax-deductible contribution to support the Northeast School of Ballet will help us continue to bring educational opportunities to our community.

We invite you to witness the next generation of dancers at NSB’s Fall Series, A New Season, in October. with works by Jean-Pierre Bonnefoux, Joseph Jefferies and Jeremy Howes. Tickets for the performance are on sale now!

With Gratitude,

Northeast School of Ballet
